How to add your items to the website:
(A step by step guide)
1. Take your photographs. 2. Compile your descriptions. 3. Send us your images and descriptions… We’ll take care of everything else.
1. Taking effective photographs
- There is space for up to 4 images (pictures) for each item for sale on the website.
- We suggest you take one image of the whole item and submit further images of any important features, signatures, maker’s marks or different aspects of the item.
- Using a plain, neutral coloured background gives best results.
- If you use a standard film camera, have the film developed and recorded on a CD in Jpeg format.
When using a digital camera:
- Before you send us digital images please check them for sharpness. (To do this and for further tips on digital photography please scroll to the end of this page)
- Send your images in Jpeg format by email to images@antiquecentreworldwide.com
2. Compiling your descriptions:
- Please include details of:
- Condition
- Age/ date/ origin
- Any restoration
- Size / dimensions
- Price or POA
- Clear, concise and honest descriptions are beneficial to sales and maintain both your credibility and that of the website.
- Indicate the main category and sub category in which you would like each item to appear. (e.g. Category: Glass, sub category: Decanters)
- To avoid errors, clearly identify your description for each item with the corresponding images (e.g. images 1-4 correspond with description 1)
3. Sending images and descriptions:
- Images and descriptions should be emailed to images@antiquecentreworldwide.com
- Images on CD can be sent by post with accompanying descriptions, or you can email the descriptions separately.
- On receipt of your images and descriptions, one of our team will add your items to the website.
- You will receive a list of your submitted items with corresponding reference numbers, together with your membership receipt and start-up date.
4. Customer enquiries, sales and support:
- All enquiries will be forwarded directly to you by email or phone.
- You will then deal directly with the client.
- When you proceed to a sale you can arrange for payment and delivery yourself or use our Barclaycard Business online payment service. We can put you in touch with recommended shippers who deliver door to door.
- Please notify us of any sold items (whether through the website or otherwise), so that we can keep the site updated and avoid disappointing prospective customers.
- A member of our team will be pleased to answer any questions you have or help you get started. Email info@antiquecentreworldwide.com
5. Extra Tips for digital photography:
- Blurred or poor quality images will not enhance sales! So please check before you send images.
- Check for sharpness of images by using the magnifying facility on the camera’s review mode
- Pictures may be blurred because:
a) The camera moved – try using a tripod
b) ‘Macro mode’ was not used. ( Macro mode is used for close-ups and is usually employed by pressing the ‘flower’ icon on the camera.)
c) You were too close.
- Take shots with and without flash to see which gives best results, sometimes flash can create too much reflection off shiny surfaces.
